Central is still the breadbasket... & what happens with all the water LA steals from the rest of the current CA when it gets split up... lawsuits for years...

You ever been to Jefferson? Economy based on dairy, cattle, lumber, tourism, fisheries, etc. They would do just as well as Oregon.

The question would then become, whatcha gonna do with Pelican Bay? (Send ‘em back to LA)

This is an interesting infographic from the original vote page showing the three proposed states: https://cal3.com/compare-the-cas/

The original Jefferson was (from memory) the 11 northernmost CA counties and a galf dozen or so of the Southernmost Oregon counties...

In short, the folks furthest removed from the major population centers in their respective states and therefor ignored by politicians.

In 1941 some of the Oregon counties and 3 or 4 CA counties actually seceded... fortunately the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor & things calmed down.

A quick way to gain four more Senators, probably Democrat.

I honestly think they’d be republican looking at the proposed county breakdown. Not everything that comes out of CA is blue. However, that’s assuming the Red is much different these days...

Not really that familiar with the political landscape, but they do tend to elect liberal left wingers.
