From an Indian think tank. IS is almost doomed - just not quit. Good read at the future problems. It missed one - and that is how Mosul will fit into the next century of jihadi recruiting for the global insurgency and revolution... Victory now in Mosul is too late for the GoI- for it already has held out against all odds for 8 months....

As I see it, by the time the current wave of Islamic "Manifest Destiny" is knocked down, the Muslims will be left as the sole possessor of much of the battlefield that is Southwest Asia. I'm not sure if their actions ultimately will be seen as religious genocide, but it will be close. They will also have made inroads into Europe, areas of the Pacific, and even the United States. The best we can hope for is a short term end of hostilities but the war will continue as it has for hundreds of years.
