Canada inches toward 200,000 COVID-19 case mark

LTC (Join to see) You know I get so tired of those who cite Trump stopping travel from China to counter the virus when the facts clearly show that the cases that decimated the northeast came from Europe.

LTC (Join to see) - Trump's strategy was lying about the pandemic for weeks. That was infinitely stupid on many levels. His position negated the impetus for the government to start planning and executing while the pandemic was growing out of control in the US. There is a reason why S Korea has less than 500 deaths and we have over 200,000 deaths.

The scientist did not blow it. Trump in his tapes with Woodward proves Trump knew the dangers of COVID in February but decided to play it down. That is the crux of the problem. Trump used a political solution (lying) for a scientific and medical problem.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - The crux of the matter is, Trump did not take early and robust actions and he lied about the pandemic for weeks. S Korea started planning and executing mass testing and contact tracing in February. They have less than 500 deaths. Our government chartered FEMA to start planning in late March. We could not even order PPEs early because that was only addressed in late March. This was total FUBAR.

Trump lying about the pandemic is the worst approach he could have taken. It was impetus for a do nothing government when we should have ramped up operations. At least Custer had a plan. Trump had absolutely no plan.

Maybe that was one of the 1st strains that mutated in Europe but it all came from the vicinity of China. European Union, Canada and the United States all finally shut the borders about the 15th of March 2020. Canada, The Europeans and other big countries had their own scientific people in addition to the United States centre for disease control. Allegedly, the world health organisation was given misinformation or people within the organisation lied to the world about the transmissibility of coronavirus.
