That’s nothing, back in Iraq, during OIF 2 ‘04-‘05, we were wearing our combat patch with the horse head facing forward because the general didn’t want the horse “running in circles”… or so I heard… lol. I still have my uniform intact.

Patches that don't conform to the official TIOH approved drawing aren't rare - the Army started issuing patches for the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment that did not conform to the approved TIOH drawing around late 1969, with the last original design patches disappearing from both quartermaster stocks and the exchange system shortly after.
