SN (Join to see), my expectations of any and all sports media personnel in general, college and professional, are so low I’m rarely upset or disappointed in their behavior. I expect it.

I agree, SN (Join to see), but many of them are overrated as well. I had already seen Williams’ segment earlier.
However, I’ve just become weary of what sports media personnel have evolved into overall. I hear incredibly poor grammar, and the pre- and post-game banter of talking heads who really aren’t funny at all. In some instances we have sports talking heads espousing their political views. Sometimes, the bias of a broadcast team toward one team is obvious.
I don’t remember all this hoopla when I watched games as a young boy and a young man. Maybe I was simply too young to observe what’s always been there, but I don’t think so. The sports media personnel profession has evolved, and not necessarily for the better.

I was taking a shot at the Wolverines. Rivalries run deep. As an English teacher, I am always perturbed by the sloppy use of the language. I once corrected a student who said, "It wasn't me." I said the correct way to say that is, "It wasn't I." The student came back the next day and told me that her dad said I was wrong! How can you correct that? LTC Stephen C.

SGT (Join to see), I thought that perhaps networks helped people with their grammar, but it has become so pervasive, I realize now, nothing like that could possibly happen. I was looking at the bit above about Cam’s “retraction”, and I was reminded of an old verse that an English teacher will appreciate.
“The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.”
― Omar Khayyám
Whether written or spoken, once it’s out there, it’s out there.

The butchery of the English language by sports broadcasters is legion. I cannot even watch many of them speak. The misuse of words, incorrect pronunciation etc. is really bad. The networks seem to think that any former player can broadcast these days. Then there are the women o the sidelines that know little about the game. So many reasons not to watch the NFL any longer.
