And to think when I built my first telescope (And thank God Mr. Z the jeweler helped grind my lens!) when I as seven (I built a Radio Telescope the year before, but the picture was horrible. LOL). We didn't even know what Nebulas were. Heck, we only knew about thirty four Galaxies at that time.
Man, we are learning at a Moore's Law Rate...expect in the areas that concern how to be better Humans. Imagine if Societies (as a whole) had progressed as much Science in the last five decades.
But maybe now that we are learning about all the parts, we can put it all together and become Whole.

SGT Kevin Hughes - It would seem that the more we learn, the faster we learn so much more!

Sgt (Join to see) - Kerry, that is as profound a statement as I have read in a while. Except for Social Things..I agree, and even in those areas we did accelerate, and now the pendulum in starting to swing the other way. I remember one of the quotes I read (sadly, I can't remember who said it):
The goal of mankind is progress, the enemy of progress is tradition. Tradition is the glue that keeps us in place, but leaves us stuck in the past." Or something like that. Just look at how far Women (and they aren't there...yet.) and most Minorities have come...and now we backtrack on both. Dave Chappelle, who has become a very thoughtful Comic, said to the women in his audience: "You made a mistake by using your moment in the sun to crush bad men without gathering any allies among the good me. It will come back and bite you." Four years later ...he was correct.
