who needs a canopy.. back in the day open cockpit was the way to go lol.. Good thing these guys made it alright. Wonder what happened to the canopy system

Most aircraft have emergency procedures for this very uncomfortable malfunction. These pilots probably followed proper procedures and made it back to land safely. It's part of the reason helmets have goggles, "fast mover" pilots wear oxygen masks even below 10,000 feet, and pilots always wear gloves.

More like -80 degrees Fahrenheit if they're flying that fast. They had frostbite on their face for sure!
