A federal appeals court has ruled that a King County, Washington, order barring U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from using a Seattle-area airport to deport illegal immigrants from the country is unlawful, affirming a lower court’s summary judgment and clearing the way for the removals to continue.
Judge Daniel A. Bress of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit wrote in the Nov. 29 opinion that a 2019 executive order issued by King County Executive Dow Constantine that prohibited the ICE deportation flights was unlawful. The ruling identified two primary legal violations: discrimination against federal operations under the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution and breach of a World War II-era Instrument of Transfer agreement governing the airport’s use.
Bress wrote that the executive order’s flight ban “discriminatorily burdens the United States” in the enforcement of federal immigration law and that this “discrimination, plain on the face of the Order, contravenes the intergovernmental immunity doctrine.” Rooted in the Supremacy Clause, the intergovernmental immunity doctrine protects federal government operations from discriminatory or obstructive actions by state and local governments.

However, it should now be abundantly clear to you, me and the entire RP community, that meaningful dialogue with A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney, appears to be impossible. My conclusion is easily supported by an even casual review of this entire thread!
Whether he’s being purposefully obtuse or is simply incapable of speaking to the point and responding appropriately is not for me to say. Some of his comments are patronizing to RP members, and his rants about his educational background, career experiences and other subjects seem to be purposeful obfuscations and their irrelevance is not subject to dispute.
This devolved thread is a perfect example.
Initially, A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney begins an obviously patronizing and sarcastic response to Lt Col Charlie Brown’s discussion thread that used North American as the defining term. I replied to him that the appropriate term as used in the court order (which I read) was noncitizen detainees. The term North American does not appear in the court order. Never once in further comments did he ever reply to the initial and only subject: North American vs. noncitizen detainees. What he followed with are rants composed of line after line of commentary that appeared to me to be purely self serving and obviously irrelevant, and provided me with some insight that I can’t imagine that anyone would wish to reveal, and furthermore, I would just rather not know.

NONE for me as they are ILLEGAL and do not deserve to get what what we as AMERICANS do not get for free!!!!!! how can you espouse them over us who actually live here and pay taxes last i checked i have to pay property taxes, i dont get free health insurance (some limited from the VA because i served) i dont get free cell phones, free credit/debit cards every month for thousands, free food free flights to anywhere in America, free lawyers why do WE AS AMERICANS NOT GET THIS ?????
