I had a chance to visit Motts Military Museum outside Columbus OH. Warren Motts, Exec Dir is looking any Vietnam Veterans to help him with the back story of this helicopter.

My brother flew a few missions in Cobras at the tail-end of his tour in '68. They were just being introduced then. I will pass this on to him.

Too young for Vietnam, but I do have a good friend who was Air Force air craft mechanic in DaNang (spelling?) I'll ask and see if he knows.

I would recommend tagging AH-1 Cobra Pilot and Helicopter Pilot Sharon Danitschek.
I think together we served might be another forum to ask this question.
