To me, it's a one or the other. Either have BOTH genders register for selective service........or get rid of it.

I think that Selective Service is probably outdated and costly. I do think that it does provide a reminder to draft age kids, and their parents, that there's more to being a citizen than paying taxes, and for that reason I believe that ALL draft age citizens need to register.

When I was in the draft age range in 1990 I asked males how they felt when they signed up and they didn't really have an opinion about it. Considering how apathetic the current generation is about anything that doesn't involve gaming or their i devices I doubt they feel any different than they did 15 years ago. It would be great if it did make them stop and think but I think that time has long passed.

Yes. I think the Draft is out dated concept. I think the All Volunteer Concept is more than sufficient to meet the needs of Global Stability which is our CURRENT military mission.

"If" we ever have to return to a National Defense mission, we can deal with that with new Legislation, but the idea that the Government effectively owns a person's Life (can order you to Die for the Nation) is counter to Liberty.
