SGT (Join to see). In criminal investigations color, height, weight, facial features, clothing worn, friends they have, cars they drive, etc can all be useful in forensic investigations to establish what actually happened. These cases work best when the information is close hold and not released to the press [not sure that term make sense anymore:-)]
On the other hand drawing attention to the group of people that a suspected perpetrator is part of is an aspect of the worst kind of journalism unless it is done in a tasteful way - which unfortunately is rarely the case. Emphasizing Caucasian, Negroid, Oriental, male, female, homophobic, and similar terms can reinforce stereotypes and prejudices and tend to add more heat than light to the situation.
All victims should be treated with respect. This is an individual by individual issue. We should try to minister to those who are victims and help them nurse their wounds - physical, emotional and spiritual. I hope and pray that Americans will do a better job in this area and build bridges among communities.
Unfortunately we live in a fallen world where most people do not always do what the should to put it mildly. It is only by the grace of God, that the Holy Spirit restrains the evil that men do to each other. I shudder to think how horrible it would be if the Holy Spirit was withdrawn - the Holocast would pale by example. SSG James J. This was a great read SGT (Join to see). I personally agree with their points. More often than not, these cases bleed together only leaving small bits of information for people to remember. For example, the names of the vicitims are lost because instead of the mass public remember their names we remember what we hear the most and most of the time that is the location. Years from now, when our kids look back in history they will not learn the names but they will know things likfe Ferguson, Baltimore, Madison and Cleveland. And in that, we dehumanize the real impact of what happened.

SGT (Join to see) - Never said you didn't post good threads. I just don't agree with that one particular thread being on here. :)

Excellent article, SGT (Join to see). Thanks for sharing it. I like the way the Henrys are handling the shooting of their son DJ. They're not rolling over and giving up, but they're not joining the white cop kills black teen (again) club either. They could be part of that protest, but they're grieving and moving forward on their own terms.

I would say they are the future of America. As a family, they personify MLK's dream - content of character vs. color of skin. That's where we need to go/be, IMHO. And I'd say we have a ways to go before we get there.
