Perhaps the British Ministry is thinking saying no to youth makes them think they will prove the adults wrong.

This is the British Ministry of Defence's £2 million response to two problems. First the need to recruit approximately 10,000 new army regulars to replace those ending their service in 2016-17.

And secondly how to grab the attention of a demographic of 16-24 year olds who live on their phones and for whose attention, their message will have to compete with thousands of others on a daily basis.

There is always a level of Psychology when it comes to military recruitment. It's the most advanced sales psychology you may find! Calling it reverse psychology, a military recruiter would call it a closing technique. Typically the most effective way to recruit is you have a recruiter in front of an applicant and be able to present the story of the military branch, and form connections with the person's interest and how the military will assist in meeting those identified needs and goals. Each applicant is different, some may need reverse psychology. The USMC has been doing it for decades. How often have you heard a USMC recruiter tell someone you're not ready, or good enough to be a Marine. Next thing you know that individual is at the MEPS swearing in.
