You might like this for a spirited discussion. The bulk of the responses in the poll was an unqualified/qualified yes. However there was the almost 7% who said No. What Say You?

I'm not one for jumping out of planes, but it is a proven method of troop delivery to capture an objective

That would be a big fat yes. Asking the question is like asking if the Navy needs ships. The answer should be obvious and even asking it is a little crazy.
