That's coming, plus most heavy maintenance happens in a hangar anyhow.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - I have been there and done that, first 4 years I was Avionics Instrument Repair, but on a large scale there are not enough hangers for all the types of maintenance a drone could forseeably perform.

MSgt Dale Johnson Ya I know that, but there are periodic inspections where aircraft are routinely brought into hangars. Flightline maintenance is out at this stage of drone development, but I can certainly see it on the horizon.

Heck, hey use robots to build them, why not drones to fix them. Plus it's a lot faster and easier to put a drones "eyes" on something than a humans.
