What happened to the bus driver? Did he survive? Luckily, this criminal was stupid and he was trying to steal the bus. In Canada, you can be released from jail as little as seven years after murder. This guy will serve some time but he won't be in for very long. There is no capital punishment in Canada.

You can't outlaw everything that someone can use to hurt another person. We keep going around in circles on this.

What, then, is your opinion or position on firearms, Charlie? With 29 million various laws on guns in this country, people still shoot other people. Why not have legislation on Formica kitchen table legs??? Don't laugh. I worked a homicide in KCMO in the early 1980s, one that involved the use of just such an implement of mayhem. In all my years in law enforcement, I worked enough murders and aggravated assaults in which no less than 100 completely different everyday items were used to randomly commit one each of those crimes. A gun was Number 41. Ninety-nine other weapons were used. You wouldn't believe what the others were. Let's outlaw everything because, I guarantee you, you can kill someone with it. And you and I and the vast majority of persons on RP own all one hundred items.

Happens in Baltimore all the time. We cannot legislate our way out of these types of problems.
