Nothing invalidates the individual voter's responsibility to weigh the facts, form their choice, and vote their conscience. Frankly, I didn't cast my vote based on anything other than an obvious choice between the only two choices given; a left-leaning careerist politician and a somewhat right-centered populist.
Until someone shows me where just one Russian agent was able to physically change one valid vote for one candidate to another in the voting booth...I don't see the "smoke" that would indicate a "fire".

Absolutely right Sir !! People with half a brain and a head on their shoulders should be able to see thru the smoke screen and vote their convictions !! Simple way to remove the supposed crooked voting system also, voter ID, photo required, paper ballot and signature required to vote, then should fraud be found in a particular prescient, prosecute the poll workers !!

What truly concerns me PO3, is how easily a foreign power like the Russian Federation can throw our entire government (and population) into confusion, disunity and argument by the means accused. If their REAL goal was to cast doubt on our national systems of law and order...well, someone in the Kremlin got their bonus.

Can we "prove" any of the Russian ads actually convinced a person how to vote? Of course not. That would take a mind-reader. However we see on this board everyday threads and links to Facebook and other sites, advocating a certain line, and using that source as "facts" to support their opinions, but, often, with a little research, those ads are shown to be false. Yet the person(s) that post them believe them to be true. So, why should we not believe the impact of the Russian meddling?
By thw way, you "obvious choice" is probably not so obvious to half the voters.

MSG SH-Many falsehoods influence people. For example, I know many wonderful, otherwise intelligent people who honestly believe that we can tax our way out of poverty and that every person seeking to come to our shores does so out of a sincere desire to better themselves. What is being ultimately sought by these investigations is the grounds to challenge the Election on a legal basis, and potentially find enough evidence to enact impeachment proceedings...on that account, I believe the accusations will prove baseless. We should consider the impact of the Russian's "meddling" for exactly the reasons you point out; that people are willingly led to "facts" that support their already well-established beliefs...even if untrue. However, the relative lack of scrutiny any individual voter applies to making their decision is not guaranteed by law. As to my "obvious choice", it remains obvious to me that there were two platforms being presented...one that is committed to fundamentally changing American society along a Progressive ideology, and the other that is committed to more traditional ideals. In the previous two elections, more people voted against what I believe...and I have no doubt they won legally. This time, more of the "opposition" showed up. With respect, I believe that's as far as one can take explaining the result.

People have to feel like they can go to the election polls and not have anyone putting pressure on them to vote in a certain way and make their own choice. I don't see a problem with having to show a picture ID in order to vote and cut sown on fraud plus checking against list of Registered voters. There must be safeguard to insure the ballot boxes aren't stuffed, only US citizens can vote (anything else is fraud) and certainly dead people aren't having votes cast in their names. Any time a form of fraud or undue pressure is out on anyone to vote a certain way which they might not otherwise have done is detected it must be exposed and dealt with. We may not all agree on all issues but that is what a free society is about, the right to choose and express for Yourself. All the safeguards should be taken to insure this doesn't happen.

If a nation that can put a man on the moon years ago cannot successfully produce and manage a secure voting system......we in bad trouble, like you said, valid photo ID to vote, paper ballot system, voter's signature required and have a valid accurate voter registration system with all voter names in a book.....if your name is not in the book.....simple, you don't vote !!!!

PO3 J.W. Nelson - I know when I go to vote in our town in Massachusetts We do have to checked off on the Voters list then after casting Our ballot checked again.
The voting booths are sheltered so no one can observe how You voted. Any people with political ads or signs have a certain distance of a few hundred feet from the polling place so not to put pressure on voters. That wouldn't influence Me anyway, I already know what My votes are going to be before I even go to the polls.
On another note: If one is going to complain about the results, i don't have to agree with you but I'll listen, if however You didn't even bother to vote and participate in the voting process then don't complain about the outcome. That I don't want to hear !
