I have a friend ,who was a Major that was a military liaison to the Prince now King when he was at Fort Bragg in 1980. He was a FAO in Thailand making sure the King's Mom did not sucked out of a back of a C-130. She wanted to see him jump but she had to be back far enough and buckled up. Ambassadors were upset he had so much access but he spoke THAI and his wife was Thai. Col. John Cole USA (retired) here on RP also graduated from the Thai Military Staff College.

The only thing I know about Thailand is the week I spent there in 91 and it was pretty good. Great Place to buy a Kimono and Semi Precious Stones.

Cool...
was your Friend still with the Prince in '84 when he came to Bragg and Got a tour of SF Schools ... The Prince was totally Lost during out briefings of the Communications Equipment... Then i pissed him and his Flying Buddies off when I shut down the Phitsanulok Airport when he was there (i was running The DZ) and had 48 Halo jumpers on short Final and he and his Buddies were about to take off into their glide path... apparently he does not like to be delayed... he was flying a "T6/A6 Texan" ... Think thats the designation...

SFC George Smith - Yes, he was there. You made him smile. Thanks for your memories of the Prince there.
