Chuck Yeager came by to see a Navy fighter plane that was all dirty from its combat tour. He didn't care, he said he was happy to see the only true combat aircraft at the Edwards Air Force Base Air Show.

I remember attending a brief where a MAW staff was given the reasoning behind the Corps not getting the F-14. While the procurement cost was a concern, the primary reason was the unit maintenance support requirements and the logistics tail.
