The ironic thing is that he changed what he was doing to be respectful to veterans. That won't matter for those that want to follow the narrative that it is being done to disrespect us though. If they didn't follow that narrative, they may actually have to think about the actual reason why the players are taking the knee.

One veteran doesn't speak for all, my family military history goes back to the Alamo and all who are living do not like what they see. I am full aware of the story from last season and the knee is a compromise. With the flag and national anthem, there is no compromise.

Sgt Ramon Nacanaynay - We are all like that time to time. It can be hard to challenge our beliefs and the old saw about it being easier to believe a comfortable lie than an uncomfortable truth seems to be universally true.

CPL Dave Hoover - Well that's the thing with free speech, it can be uncomfortable and people are going to do things we don't agree with. We've got people marching to defend a flag of rebellion against our national flag in this country which is a heck of a lot worse than taking the knee; particularly when the reason why they are now taking the knee is to protest something else with the direct intention of not disparaging the flag or the anthem.

I don't usually put one issue next to another because than one may not look so bad next to something worse. Look at each thing independently and you see it for what it really is. As far as intentions go, the intent MAY be good but doesn't justify the actions, nor means.

Take a knee, sit, stand and link arms ... all are equally disrespectful. I don't care who influenced who to do what. Respect begets respect. Goodell, the NFL in general, and the knee-takers, arm-linkers, and National Anthem-skippers have lost mine. #BpycottNFL #BoycottNFL Sponsors. There is only one right way to do it ... stand, put right hand over heart. If you were wearing a hat, hold it in your right hand while you are putting it over your heart. If NFL players, coaches, and owners can't collectively do that ... and it appears they can't ... flush 'em.

Yep ... but sit or take a knee doesn't make a hell of a lot of difference. Both are disrespectful ... as is standing with arms linked that some seem to think is ok.
