Political parties know we won't stop driving our V8 trucks and so they put cap and trade/carbon taxes as a means to tax and spend. We need to open up yucca mountain to put our nuclear waste away and we need to build new power plants. In Canada, Liberals in Ontario spent one billion to shut down a planned nuclear reactor and electricity prices doubled. In Alberta, they put a carbon tax on power and now they want to shut down other coal fired plants without nuclear power which is dumb and makes electricity expensive.
