I do not like this, of course, but we have poured weapons, money, and men into the Kurds and their lands for over 15 years. Are we to protect them forever?
Are they more deserving than the North Koreans? The people of Iran under their terrible leaders? The Tutsi? The Ibo? The Hutu? Are the Kurds more deserving than the Iraqis we left when the Obama administration pulled the troops out in 2011, leaving them to the tender mercies of ISIS?
We cannot save the world. Wish we could, but we have left over 7,000 dead there and I, for one, believe that is enough. Sorry to disagree, but that is how I see it.

Nobody cared in the two previous times we have done it, only when President Trump does it does the media care enough to headline it.

First, It isn't our ground to stand. Second, who do you suggest we declare war on or do you support an on going intervention with no one in congress on record with a vote for all out war? We know congress prefers no votes on this so they can cut and run later.
This areas of the world is a shit show but it is not of Trump's making and it will be a shit show long after we leave it to them. 50 operators on the ground is not war, it is intervention. It is delaying the inevitable. They need to fight and they need a winner or they can all decide they are tired of war and strike a real, lasting peace (if that is possible).
