Women were prohibited from serving on the frontlines in combat roles but this doesn't mean they didn't see combat. There are specialties where a female will be assigned to a combat unit. The nature of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, have no real front lines, and women have taken part numerous times in close-quarters combat as a result of this. Women participating directly being members of combat units may be new but the idea of women being in combat is not.

I'm going to sit back and wait for all the "SuperVets" to come out and degrade her achievements based solely on sex. They'll even try to degrade it saying it was a "political award". Sorry SuperVets, this female put in work, HARD work and was recognized for it. If you cannot handle the fact that women are just the warrior that a man is, you can take that Bronze Star and shove it up your a**. and polish it in there. It's not hard to take a life. Point weapon and shoot. It's HARDER to save one. This NCO has my full respect as my peer.

Warren just to correct you, you mean Super Fools, because they fail to see the most obvious Natural Fact, Nature made the female species the better hunters, and that well trained and armed women are more deadly up close.

Can't degrade a combat medics achievements. If anyone tries they are an IDIOT. They are one of the most important members of the team if not the most important.
