Well comparing apples to oranges might work, but frankly if an F-16 could get close enough to an F-35 to get into a dogfight it would be something close to a miracle. And exactly what does comparing the A-10 to the F-16 have to do with anything? The A-10 was designed to be a Soviet tank killer and the F-16 was designed to be a low cost air superiority fighter. The missions and performance characteristics don't even cross paths unless of course you say they are both airplanes.

I'm sorry it was confusing the same guy who designed the A-10 Warthog and the F-16 was discussing the merits and demerits of the F-35. I wasn't trying to compare the modern Stuka with the F-35. My point being is that I saw a Russian sponsor TV channel actually have a challenging and thought-provoking comparison of the two. I know the F-35 is a supposed to engage the F-16 but thank goodness the Air Force woke up. You remember John McCain arguing with the 4-star Air Force General. The Air Force General said they couldn't afford the A-10 Warthog anymore. We'll now they can afford the A-10 Warthog and the F-35 and now they're adding more F-15 Echo x-ray models. As you know, I am upset that the Air Force wants to get rid of some of the A-10 Warthogs and the Biden Administration is getting a 15% raise to a couple Federal agency so they can help with the gulf Delta climate change but they only give a 4% raise to the defense budget which means it's - 4%.

Correction, I said it was from Popular Science. It was from Popular Mechanics. Here is the article.

People will automatically see that is Newsmax or Fox News and automatically decide it's not something worth reading. And I'm trying to prove a point that I looked at something that I knew could be tricky or misleading and the story about the F-35 versus the F-16 was actually credible. The Air Force reissuing new models of the F15 Echo x-ray validates at. Thank goodness the Saudi Arabians in the Koreans were asking Boeing to make modified models for their needs and those Legacy models interested the Air Force and now we have our own version. By the way, we also have a semi stealth F-16 model also available as well. So you can still add things to a 4th generation fighter that will still make it harder to see on radar and yet be able to dog fight when needed.

LTC (Join to see) I've been a fan of the A-10 since I was at SOS and the PM was giving us a briefing on the aircraft. In the middle of his briefing he was interrupted and after that he told us that the first production decision had been approved. I've never understood why the AF wanted to get rid of it but as an F-111 series flier I do understand the cost of maintaining an aircraft leading to its demise.
