I love this saying “Find your passion”, unfortunately very few truly understands how quad dimensional this phrase truly is. I have spent 22 years in the Army (4 reserve and the last 18 active), I have been passionate about things yet I really didn’t find my passion till about my 10th year in the Regular Army. Ultimately I was passionate about the Army, what the Army offers, the lifestyle, the training, and above all else my ability to mold young minds. My passion has now been refined to counseling Soldiers as well as simply providing guidance and direction to people in general.
Ultimately the phrase “find your passion” means to find passion in what you are currently doing. As you become passionate about your current job you will improve at it, master it, and become one with it. Even if you don’t plan to stay in the military, if you’ve acquired the skill to become passionate with what you are doing, chances are you will be successful in whatever you choose to do next. Basically the ability to find passion is more important than the passion that has been found.

While there is no question in my mind that I didn't follow my passion , I found it. I believe it is sound advice to follow it once you have found it. I discovered mine at the age of 17 and got laid off 1 1/2 months later. I dogged the manager until I was rehired and at my late age still love my job. In the 51 years since I probably haven't found the job work more than a few months total
