We would be better served to want security and stability in the region vice a western style government. With security and stability, the Afghans can work to have a future -- when the citizens there realize they have a future to protect, then they won't jeopardize it so readily. This is a generational culture shift and it will take 20-30 years of western support -- not necessarily military prop-ups.
