You can't protect your family from terrorism. However, you can help them protect themselves. When I grew up in a city we learned "street smarts" or risked being victimized. We need to begin teaching our kids these same lessons. "Street smarts" begins with situational awareness. Being plugged into our smart phones as we walk down the street, congregate in public places, and participate in public activities is an invitation to disaster. Secondly, street smarts includes avoiding trouble. There are places and activities that are magnets for criminal/terrorist activities. If you're going to take the chance on going there, at least be prepared with an "exit strategy" or a method of self-defense. Finally, don't make yourself a target. Identify the potential targets around you and stay the hell away from them

The worse Islamic terror attack on American soil since 9-11 was this morning. I wish I had gone to the war college for my degree. Since I didn't the following comes to mind:

ID the enemy. Islam is the problem. Not all Muslims.
The FOB's need to be ID'ed. Then, bulldozed.
Secure the southern border with the military. Rotations by % of military bases. 3mo tours.
Destroy known enemy locations.
ROE need to be destroy any threat.
The media is a problem by not telling the truth. Africa and the Middle East have a lot of Islamic terror. See Churches and people burned and murdered.
Stop the flow of Islamic immigration. Do we have a death wish? See Europe.

I need a drink and it's only 1150hrs.

What i hear you saying since you obviously didn't have time to read the article is that you dismiss it out of bias and all FOIA requests are "created" to foil the lefts agenda.

Had you read it, you would have seen the last line:
"The cable was released to Judicial Watch under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)."

We could, but you need to change an entire ideology that is engrained in a large percentage of the planet. But they only really respond to strength. Think about what the point of terrorism is. To disrupt and cause fear within a group, if the group has no reason to fear them they have no power. Terrorist come in many shapes and sizes, the school yard bully is no different. How do you stop the bully? By standing up to them. ISIS could have been destroyed several years ago but this administration refused to act. Terrorism will never go away completely but it can be contained and controlled.

There have been more terrorist attacks against the West and the USA in the last 7 years than the decade prior. Why? Technology, civil unrest, global destabilization efforts, but mostly weakness. Failure to call the enemy out. Failure to neutralize the enemy. Failure to properly secure our borders and enforcement of our laws.

Name the enemy, allow the Military to do its job. Come home. If group wants to act out against us do the same. No nation building or any of that crap. That is all seen as weakness. If it was seen as help and support a quarter of the world would not hate us, like they do.
