SGT (Join to see) - Franklin Graham laid it open to the direct root of the problem. Cain killed Abel with a ROCK. If all someone had was a plastic fork, they would use it if it was in their heart to do so. We don't have a GUN problem - we have a HEART condition. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9)

SCPO Charles Thomas "Tom" Canterbury - my buddy give me that reason too ... I disagree. back in the early days of my wife getting her first home defend pistol, her shot is pretty bad ... so bad that you really don't want her shooting anything remotely in your general direction. But without me at home ... there will be nothing she can do beside running out of the house if there is someone breaking into the house. It never was a problem, before we had our first born. After the baby ... running out is no longer an option ... and she still shoot really bad. A shot gun would solve that issue... but she is also physically can't even handle a shot gun (back at those day). The only option she had is a 9mm or 0.38. I give her a 15 rounds 9mm S&W and 3 extra 15 rounds magazines.
would you give your love one lesser capacity or more capacity? Would you even consider giving them the ability to defend your babies?? Giving them the best available option and capability to defend their own life and your babies lives? Yes, training is far more important. Even me, I carry extra magazine ... why we always think that restricting your own option to defend yourself will make yourself safer?? I shot pretty good ... but I will always want more.

I have more than one magazine and bought extra when I bought my semi-automatic. I have an older revolver but that I use mainly for target shooting. We have multiple handguns in the house and though stored safely (we have a toddler), we can go from happy family mode to a burgler's worst nightmare in less than 10 seconds. My wife is prior Navy as well and likes to shoot - probably a better shot than I am. Let's just say that I would call before entering at night if I was coming back from a trip or something.
For close range support in my house we have shotguns. (WV boy here). I might have to replace some drywall but I can neutralize my target.
When I lived in Suffolk, VA, I had an alarm only to let an intruder know it was about to get real bad for them...and because I wanted a carbon monoxide detector just in case the heating system went bad...
We also have other deterrents that we use to keep our home safe and keep things secured. I want to run some drills in the house to test our proficiency and to check for potential problems in the event of a fire or intruder. I think people need to do that more than we, as Americans, have done before...

In a way. If you talk too much like this to civilians they look at you like people view all of the JFK Assassination conspiracy theorists hanging out talking to the tourists at Dealy Plaza.

Christ scolding Peter to put away his dagger when he was arrested is pretty clear and Christ's instruction about not being able to worship 2 masters is applicable in this case. If you worship the "Gun" or Violence, You are no Man of God. If you like and blame some Ethereal Sin for the Sin of Gun Violence, You are no Man of God. If Satan is the Father of all Lies Franklin Graham is his Handmaiden.

Have you ever met him? Shook his hand and seen the love in his eyes? I have several times as he reached out to wounded service members to provide us with an environment to heal spiritually and emotionally with our spouses. Have you met his son that proudly serves in the Rangers? Do you know this man at all?

Just the Opinion of the Son of 2 Lay Ministers in the Catholic Church, One of which was Author of the Primary Craft Book for Catholic Sunday School. My Pro-Life stance comes out when I talk about Guns. You can't call yourself Pro-Life and be a Gun Fondler. Period!

So if I read the "article" correctly, Mr. Graham proposes a tax on violent movies and video games as a method of lowering gun violence in this country? So the best way to protect one amendment is to limit another?
"He called for legislation to reduce such media violence, proposing "a heavy tax on the manufacturers of any film or game that graphically depicts violence.
"If violent films and games were taken off the shelves, I believe we would see a dramatic drop in gun violence over the next few years."
I see a logical dissonance in anyone who would willingly support this mans censorship of someone's constitutionally protected expression through film or other media, while vehemently defending their equally protected constitutional right to own guns. There is a crazy level of hypocrisy In his statements that shocks me.
So by that logic if you support this persons point of view I suggest you take a good look at yourself and your violent movies and video games and realize that you are part of the problem according to him. Of course he could just be spouting a bunch of un-supported "facts" and statements meant to appeal to a religious community, which is far more likely.

CPT L S - No doubt in my Mind that Franklin fits the bill exactly of a Pharisee.
