I confess I did not watch the video. I do know that it probably took us a week or couple weeks to break out of the peninsula and Normandy area. Then we fought in great length in hedgerows. The hedgerows bordered farm land and sometimes they were impenetrable. They also gave the Germans concealment as our forces often went into the open to make progress. This was devastating. Rommel who was chief architect for the Germans defense had requested to consolidate armor but Hitler wanted the armor to be spread out. The German generals had so much fear of Hitler that they waited 6 hours after the Normandy invasion for Hitler to wake up to tell him the news of the invasion. Nobody wanted to wake him up.

This is an interesting look at history from the other side. It will be facinating to see simular films about the events in the past few decades from all sides as well. History always has three sides, the story versions from both sides and the truth. I do remember a vetran from ww2 that told me the details that he remembered of d day and the fact that it took much longer to get through that point than many films show these days. I wont talk of some of the things he said about that day so as not to trigger folks here, but it was bad for both sides. I was actually glad that he didnt see me as too young to know his first hand experience of the events that took place there. He will always remain in my heart as the kind older gentleman that didnt coddle me or turn me away when i showed interest in knowing his story. It was men and women like him that got me interested in learning more about history, and film like this help me understand the other side better!
