Lunacy over an apparent non-issue. Why do I say that?
A photo os a young girl reads, "Senior Mia Powell, student body president at Grain Valley High School, said students need stickers signaling that classrooms are LGBTQ friendly." Her mother was quoted, Tara Powell said she believed these signs make a difference for students like her daughter, Mia.
Her daughter is the STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT; and apparently gay or some other LGBTQ identity. If there was a problem, or need for designated 'safe spaces," how'd she get elected or chosen?
An entire school should be a "safe space," for EVERY student and there really shouldn't be a need to identify WHAT KIND of safe space ... not LGBTQ or racially. Teach students to respect EVERYBODY and cut out the BS distinction. You're gay? No, you're a PERSON! You're melotonin is differant? Obviously; but you are a PERSON first!
The only thing that identity issues foster, is to fester.
