I started to feel this. It wasn't too bad because as teachers we were off about 11 weeks each summer, anyway. When the other teachers went back to work I figured the short answer was either volunteering or alcoholism. I can't really afford alcoholism.
Volunteer. Stay as busy as you want to be, meet new people, do new things, and just maybe do some good, to boot.

Yes. Skeet shooting, dog training, quail and pheasant hunting, and fishing are a big part of my situation, as well. The things I've always wanted to do more of, but don't want to do all the time.

separation for me was 45 years ago and I was a little worried then. I was 4 years behind my classmates if I decided on college and separation also cost me many military friends. Lots of people your own age. But it didn't take long and move on with life. With a little luck an AF Tech school I landed a good job that I held for 40 years. Now I stay as busy as I want to, That might be a 3 hr coffee break at local Cenex station or John Deere shop.
