My best friend was the crew commander of the ‘Eve of Destruction” during his tour of duty. And when the truck was brought back he was the technicial advisor during the restoration of it prior to it going into the museum.

Thanks for the great article SSgt Libby. I was in Vietnam from October 67-October 68. At that time we had 2 1/2 ton cargo trucks with Quad 50 machine guns and APC's with twin 40MM cannons we could take with us on mine sweep every morning if we wanted them. They were both antiaircraft weapons used by the Navy but mounted on vehicles. They both were very effective.

I've been trying to get a friend of mine onto RP. Maybe this discussion will get him here. He was a gun truck driver in Vietnam.
