Do they really believe people will think their purchases were "regrettable"? I think the only thing regrettable in their minds is the fact that they got caught purchasing stolen art. They knew exactly what they were doing when they did it and just didn't care.

I wouldn't be surprised at Hobby Lobby actually bankrolled Al-Qaeda and didn't realize it.

Both ISIS and Al Qaeda use stolen/"confiscated" artwork as a significant source of funding. The really bad part is that it's companies and individuals who think like Hobby Lobby that buy the majority of these treasures for their own ego boosts.

PO2 Richard C. - yes I should I was thinking about that I'm back in 2010 Isis was still a baby. But yes I can imagine the pillaging of all those areas in Northern Iraq the Assyrian kingdoms and of course stuff ruins from the Romans are fetching lots of money on the black market

LTC (Join to see) - ISIS only blows up archaeological sites after they have picked them clean of anything salable. Personally, I completely cannot understand a group that wantonly destroys its own history and culture. I understand the human foibles of greed and material possessiveness (read Hobby Lobby), but groups like ISIS and, to a lesser extent, Al Qaeda are like sentient plagues infesting humankind.Let's hope we find the vaccine soon.

Yes I agree I agree I was thinking earlier to your last response I couldn't remember the name of the city but now it's Nineveh. What an awesome city with an ancient Canal from the Sumerian or other Burley civilizations under Nebuchadnezzar or others was pillaged in probably destroyed by now. What a pity
