Biden and the Democrats have destroyed the American economy. I went to the store to pick up six items. I walk out having spent almost $60! I remember not too long ago that $60 would fill up about 1/2 of a shopping cart.

LTC (Join to see) Amazing ain't it?

I was just talking about living in San Diego during my first enlistment. In 1986, I made $11,500.00 for the year, not including BAH, sea pay and food. That was as a Corporal and Sergeant. Of course my then wife worked as well.

Now, my salary would pay for about three months rent down there.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen My family's house in La Palma, California sold for $41k new in 1971. It sold for $225k in 1992. I was worth $700k In 2005. Now it is worth $1,079,000.

8011 Dawn Circle, La Palma California 90623.

It is unaffordable now.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen MSgt (Join to see) 1SG Russell Scott MSG Greg Kelly MSgt Dale Johnson President biden does not responsible for that except for the high interest rate.

I can't explain why the value keeps going an area that is so crowded and with such high taxes.

LTC (Join to see) What high interest rate? Did I mention that the interest rate on that house in 1975 was 11.5%? Don't recall Ford being blamed for high interest rates like they try to accuse Biden today!

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - but we were blaming Carter when the Prime averaged 16.64% when Reagan took office on January 20, 1981. My Parent's VA loan was 7% in 1971. We did not have good economic policy under Nixon, and Price controls failed. Ford's Whip Inflation Now did not work. The Fed has learned a lot since the 1970s and early 80s. Both Nixon, Ford and Carter were hit by the oil shock of the Yom Kippur War and the Iranian Revolution.

Paul Volcker under Reagan did keep interest rates high and a recession, as we both recall from 1980-1983. It was improved in 1984 onward by Trickle-down economics in spite of the Cold War and large expenses for our NATO commitment to the military in Europe.

We have interest rates go up significantly under Biden. It was near zero to 5.5-8.5 due to Bidenomics and spending $9 trillion to pay off big government socialism (fake Inflation Reduction Act) Donors
donors and now he wants to support the overpriced colleges with loan forgiveness, which adds to the debt. We were chumps to pay off our overpriced college loans.

Even the retirement home I acquired from my Belated Mom increased from $225 to $400k from 1992-2023 the 55 and over community is in VIC of where the 60 and the 215 merge at the top of the Banning Pass 15 min West of March AFB. I have it rented out.
