How The Coast Guard Earned Its Orange And Blue Stripes – gCaptain

Crew from my 378 branded a 327 in Bermuda by painting "For Sale" below the racing stripe when high in the water at night. Ship took fuel in the morning and didn't notice the "For Sale" addition. All the way back from Bermuda to New London, the 327's crew could see the "For Sale" every time ship came out of the water. Not a happy Captain.

Only error in the story is that Polar Breakers use a White stripe on thieir red hulls.

Great story though.
