How the OSS Shaped Special Operations Forces and CIA of Today

I was assigned to USSOCOM when it was started at MacDill AFB, FL. The symbol of the OSS was completely incorporated into the heraldry of the new Unified Command's insignia. Two attached pictures. One of OSS patch and the other of USSOCOM badge.

I may have mentioned this to you before, 1SG(P) (Join to see), but I was fortunate enough to meet COL Aaron Bank, who is mentioned in the article. In JUN93, the Special Forces Association held their annual convention in Nashville, TN. COL Bank was there as a special guest and also to promote his new book, "Knight's Cross". He was 90 years old at the time. I was fortunate enough to meet COL Bank and still have an inscribed copy of his book! COL Bank was born 23NOV02 and died 1APR04. LTC Ivan Raiklin, Esq.
