Thanks Dale, I bought a Seiko watch from the Pacex catologue while in Nam. It had a convenient, over center locking wristbans which was good because little Vietnamese kids could not snatch it off of your wrist, which they often tried to. Now Days, It seems that wrist watches, unless thyey are mini cell phones aren't that popular. Now days , like the old pocket watches, people pull the cell phones out of their pockets.

A watch was very important to me. One hour guard duty at your night position. Couldn't wait for that hour to be up to get some shuteye. Always dreaded waking up my relief. You never knew how he would react.

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. - Me neither. Since retirement, I really don't care what time it is. I quite often just leave my phone in the pickup. It is for me to do navigation and to make outgoing calls. I refuse to be on a leash for anyone.
