As to why it was not investigated - DOJ could not pursue the case as there is long standing policy at the DOJ that prohibits department officials from taking any actions that would/could affect an election or give an advantage or disadvantage to any candidate or political party.

Regardless of laptop there are numerous well documented examples of Hunter Biden's lack of judgement. This is the guy who Joe Biden calls the smartest guy he knows.

1) crackhead - self admission (uses woe is me - addict defense) yet was kicked out of Navy Reserves for doing coke way back in 2014.
2) slept with his dead brother's wife while still married to his wife - email on old iPad found by ex-wife.
3) Denied having a child with a DC stripper, Lunden Alexis Roberts, only to admit he got her pregnant while he was still sleeping with his dead brother's wife. Settled the paternity case for $2.5 million and monthly payments - Grandpa Joe has never met his grandchild.
and so on.

I can only imagine the MSM's pursuit and coverage if this would had been a different president's son.
