SGT (Join to see) - It's up to the governor to sign the bill (he will), but this would immediately trigger a lawsuit and such a bill would not survive in the Supreme Court.

Is Mike Pence going to raise these children or support them after they get here. One thing he can't do is make parents take care of these kids that they force them to have if they don't want that kind of responsibility. I hear all these republicans telling women what they can or can't do with their bodies and babies but I have yet to see one say they will raise all of these unwanted babies!! Then they bitch about welfare and food stamps and medicaid these kids might need to survive! You can't have it all republicans. Quit being hypocritical!

PO1 (Join to see) @MAJ Andrew Fishkin Can either of you answer a confusing question for me since it appears your both Pro Choice?
If a person causes a death to a baby while still in the womb or the mother takes drugs and it harms the baby or kills it. Those people will be charged with a Homicide. But the mother is allowed to walk into a clinic and have the baby killed by whatever means they use depending on trimester. This is a fact as crazy as its going to sound. If a pregnant woman is walking down a side walk on her way to have an abortion and something happens where someone causes the baby to be killed in the womb. That person is charged with a homicide. I understand the homicide part. What I don't understand is why is it ok for the mother to have it killed but not when a stranger does it???

Simply, because there is an element of choice.
More complex: To follow off your question "why is it ok for the mother to have it killed but not when a stranger does it?" would imply that legal abortion would make it OK for someone to terminate a woman's pregnancy against her wishes via violent assault. They are really two separate issues: one being a woman's right to choose, and another to protect a woman while she is carrying.
Also, the laws are not consistent and vary state-to-state. Also, there are differing definitions of "person" for various things. Under inheritance law, unborn fetuses can be seen as persons and given legal standing.
It is all a matter of legal interpretation and I am sure there is someone here who can better explain it than I can.

I do not believe in abortion for myself but it is not up to me what another woman decides to do with her body or her personal life. Men would not like it if he were told what he had to do with his body and we don't either. Its not just a matter of choice, its also the law that women and their doctors can make these choices depending on their own personal life BUT I would never agree that an abortion could take place after 12 weeks.

PO1 (Join to see) Thanks for the answer. I guess the part that confuses me so much is one law considers it a living BABY and the abortion law in the same state considers it a fetus and not a person or baby. See what I mean. How can they write one law and call it a baby and protect it with the same laws that protect those of us typing this but another law its treated as a lump of cells with zero rights to live if the mother so chooses.
