The brutal killings were not hidden, nor were they meant to be. From the very beginning of Turkey’s invasion of northern Syria, the fighters it sent across the border to carry out the mission have proudly documented their own war crimes.
Videos posted online by soldiers of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) – showing summary executions, mutilation of corpses, threats against Kurds and widespread looting – have struck terror into the tens of thousands who find themselves in the path of the offensive.
The ethnic dimension to many of the crimes has resulted in a mass exodus of Kurds and religious minorities from these once diverse borderlands.
Now, stranded in displacement camps across northeast Syria and in neighbouring Iraq, they fear they may never be able to return home. And that, they believe, was precisely the point.

Unfortunately this type of religious genoside has been going on for hundreds of years throughout the Middle East. It could be compared to the invasion of Kirsten, the problems in the Gaza Strip, Gotham Heights, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, and the list goes on to Countries which don’t even exist anymore. I do NOT condone this type of behavior; however different religious ‘secs’ of the Predominant Muslim Religion have been at war with each other for as long as I am able to remember. That being said, I support the US involvement in numerous wars within the Middle East! I definitely agreed with the US declaring War against Terrorism after the attack on USA on 9/11...
Now that Bin Laden is dead and Al Baghdadi is dead and Isis is disorganized and disoriented, Why are US Troops STILL dying in the Middle East? The USA is NOT the World’s Police Force! Where are Our Allies who ARE part of NATO? OUR Troops are Still protecting South Korea, remember the 38th Parallel? Boots are on the ground there! I believe it is time for OUR Military to come Home! These waring Countries NEED to agree upon borders and members of NATO needs to become involved in assisting in adherence to border treaties! The USA should NOT be expected to continue to Police the World Alone! This is My Opinion as a second generation Military Veteran.
