I just came across your post on the WWII underground German bunker. I read where they are
still finding all kinds of military items from WWII scattered all over Europe. Bombs and artillery
shells that failed to explode have been found in fields by farmers. Every military item from weapons
to steel helmets to human remains that were able to survive the years have been unearthed. While
I was stationed in Germany there were bombs still being found that failed to explode after being dropped from allied military aircraft on Frankfurt and other towns. Almost all of Europe was a battlefield during WWII and is a part of that war history. I liked my time living in Germany meeting people and learning the culture. I visited many of the WWII areas that were preserved for future generations to see and learn from. Although there is a law that prohibits anything from Adolf Hitler's
Nazi Germany from being openly displayed there are memorial statues to German soldiers killed in WWII located in towns across Germany. There is a German army barracks named after Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, "the desert fox" (der wusten fuchs). I enjoyed your informative post.
