To be honest I think it would be Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) and not DoD PO1 Tony Holland. Since VBA is the organization which assesses Veterans.
Hopefully the process will be fast-tracked to link burn pit exposure to specific ailments and long-term impacts of exposure burn pits.

Another risk to the health of Veterans with unsafe practices. Look back at WWII exposure to Nuclear test, in Viet Nam the use of Agent Orange and other defoliants. I can't imagine there wasn't some risk also to the practice of burning human waste in Viet Nam which was also soaked in JP4 and the like. It seems the response is to deny responsibility, well someone in a chain of Command made these decisions that effected others ! Do they ever learn or care they put others at risk ?

No because they're not the ones out there being affected, and know it'll take an act of God for DOD to admit something was wrong, and "vow" to correct it. CONUS you have the lead water contamination at Camp Lejeune and Tyndall AFB. Both are acknowledging it's been there, both are dragging feet to clean it up.
These same pits were in the Stan and everything was put in them. Ours was on our LZ. All of 100ft from the huts. The entire year I was there, we used it, think DOD or VA will come out and say my breathing is screwed up?
