The progressive Left figured it out long ago. There is magic in words. They're correct. S.I. Hyakawa, the professor of semantics and author of Language in Thought and Action, was wrong when he said there is no magic in words. Kids know it. Sticks and stones may break my bones, and words really can hurt me. More. "Undocumented immigrants" seems so benign, doesn't it? "Illegal Alien"? Racist! And they have the news and entertainment media beating the drum on their behalf. Hitler once said that goose-stepping (that weird looking march that appears as though the troops are mashing bugs in their path) drums the brain until it's insensible. That's why dictators insisted on having their military goose-stepping. Well, terms like "undocumented immigrants" is the linguistic equivalent of goose-steeping. It beats the brain insensible to to reason. Thus, an illegal alien by another name does smell sweeter

I remember seeing something I don't know if it wasn't a Cheech and Chong movie. Someone said you're a gang! And the Gang members said: we're not a gang, we are a club!

Bush came up with the "Patriot Act".....who could vote against that? Word games are played by all.

Don’t care what they call them, as long as they keep on going north of our border.

We should have a free train ride daily from the US-Mexican Border to the US-Canadian border...and advertise it

An immigrant from England told me of he and his pub mates planning a short cruise to Mexico from Los Angeles. The planning ceased when they realized that only two of them were legal immigrants and held US passports. LTC (Join to see)
