Is the social media prejudiced? Are they supporting one ideology and suppressing another? Obviously, the answer is a resounding "Yes". For example, if you search on YouTube for this PragerU sponsored presentation on Fascism, you'll find it listed among several rebuttals. Several conservative commentators have lost their right to earn income with their YouTube presentations while those on the Left are given that right and heavily promoted by that medium. Is it fair? Of course not, but then who said it had to be fair. YouTube, Facebook, and the others are private companies and have the right to discriminate just as bakers can refuse to build wedding cakes for same sex couples or lunch counters can refuse service to whomever they please on the basis of their race. (I can't wait to see how many miss the sarcasm in that sentence). On a more personal note, I have been identified by the social media as a conservative because of the people and organizations I follow and "Like". Thus, I find my videos suppressed. Even my closest family and friends don't find them listed on their timelines. They don't even find them listed when they go searching for them. Interesting, no?
