Why do people emigrate from truly awful places only to work hard to convert their new home into the same kind of place they just escaped?

Because some people are flat out stupid! The mass immigration to TX from CA affects us in ways we don't know yet. I suspect some are the conservatives who just got sick of the socialist agenda or high cost of living or high taxes. But then again locusts will destroy and move on ad infinitum without ever understanding they were the destructive force that destroyed their habitat.

Same thing in PA with NY and NJ residents bringing the problems from home here and making small settlements of their home states along with the problems.
