If my memory is right those SF soldiers went to a hostile village. Nobody told them of the dangers in the village.

The second thought is how did they get the intelligence to assassinate him? If the operation was a systematic approach, an insider most likely provided the key intelligence.

The third thought is some of the posters here have said ISIS is all but dead.

pretty close. They were doing a patrol in an area where there was supposed to be a small group of enemy, instead they came across a major element. Essentially they were looking for a fire team and came across a battalion. To make things worse their local partners turned tail and ran.

second...I got nothing.

third, I thought ISIS was on its death bed like 3 years ago. But they keep coming up in the news. Maybe the left overs are still making waves. I am sure they will end up being a big problem for us again at some point. I would put money on them being supported by Global Islamic Jihad, which is the behind the scenes string pullers for Al-Queda. And yes I know Al-Queda doesnt play well with ISIS but they still have similar goals and have worked together in the past.

I believe ISIS is global. ISIS is also in the Philippines. It appears they went from being centralized to decentralized. I am not an ISIS expert, but that is my gut feeling. SSG (Join to see)
