I understand. I am naturally very reclusive but, there is always a but, My father was a Traveling Salesman of Sorts and VP of St Louis Terminal Field Warehousing along with a Member of the Lions Club of Leawood and a Member of the Knights of Columbus. I was expected to be "Social" and 21 years in the Navy went a long way in making me Social but that is not my nature.

That is interesting SPC Britanny *Winnie* Balthaser that the nation of Japan is "home to 541,000 young recluses ...aged between 15 and 39 in Japan avoid social contact and shut themselves in their homes, according to a government survey released Wednesday."
The good news is that this is a reduction from 2010 when an estimated 696,000 such people — known as hikikomori were spread across the country.

Generally the parents support these people as it primarily is found in middle and upper class families. The Japanese refer to the "2030 problem" which is the timeframe that the parents of many of those afflicted will die, leaving them without contact with anyone and doctors are wondering how they will be able to integrate into society after being isolated for so many years.

I saw a documentary about this a long time ago. It's pretty fascinating and not a frivilous thing, but a real problem for those who have it and their families.
