Just in case you're tired of the Feeding Frenzy today on Capitol Hill, here is something interesting to read. I am old enough know to not worry about my cartoons being interrupted by nonstop Congressional hearings like what happened in the 1970s LOL
The movie Dauntless is not being shown in Canada but that just came out and the movie Midway is coming out fairly shortly concerning the April, 1942 Battle where is that Japanese aircraft carriers the Kaga and 3 others were sunk.

In my opinion that was the plan all along with these ships. However the smaller variants, interestingly enough (DDH-180/181) are called and operated as Destroyers with a big flight deck.

I would say no, just bringing it up to the standards it needs to be at would probably cost as much as a new ship. Plus it would be a one-off which would make support for it a nightmare.
