Thank you, my friend SGT (Join to see) for reminding us about Frank and Jesse James. They enlisted in Quantrill's Raiders since they were from a confederate sympathizing [non-slave-owning] family in Missouri. Their outlaw days have been described in number books, radio programs, TV shows and movies as well as songs.
As usual in folklore were villains can be idolized, Robert Ford is considered a traitor for killing cutthroat outlaw Jesse James.
