As a Senator I didn't like McCain, seems he was involved in every crooked deal in Arizona. Even he dismissed people who praised his combat record " I got shot on my second mission". BUT as a warrior, who turned down early release from North Vietnam, he is a Hero. He put his own life at risk for him and the other captives

I have lived in Arizona for the last 25 years and like you I do not care for his policies as my senator, but as a warrior I have nothing, but respect for him and wish him well in his recovery. Brain cancer is nothing to laugh about. My mom was diagnosed in Sep 2013 and passes away 5 months later.
