Sorry Judge. Sometimes just because something is legal doesn't make it right. Both Clinton and Nixon were treated better.

Lt Col Charlie Brown: The independent prosecutor system which was used in both Nixon and Clinton's impeachment are no longer in effect unless the House resurrects that law. As far as both Nixon's and Clinton's impeachment inquiry there were several depositions which were taken without the public/press being allowed into the deposition. This is normal procedural rules. I suppose under your theory all police investigations and grand jury proceedings should be open to the public to review the records, etc. within a matter of days after the report is written.

You have an excellent point that nobody fails to grasp. Regardless of who did what, the office of the President was still treated with respect. Today, Democrats don't seem to care about any of that and are working to unseat this man - largely due to the fact that they lost pure and simple. My opinion but looking at how President Trump has been treated since Jan 20th 2017, I would be pretty upset as well as they seem to undermine him and the rest of the GOP at every turn. The Constitution does grant the House of Representatives the sole power to impeach but it's the entire House, not just the political party at the forefront of this whole thing.

CW3 Michael Bodnar - The POTUS has done a lot to invite that treatment, both in his personal conduct unbecoming and general actions bringing dishonor on the office. He doesn't respect his office, the people in Congress, the people who work for him, nor the judiciary. When faced with such an individual it is hard to deal with them normally.

’Regardless of who did what, the office of the President was still treated with respect’.
Good lord. If that’s what’s you're standing on, it’s at least fair to point out that the office of the President was usually respectful of others.

None of it will be fair.
It is also irrelevant.
The House, if they can muster the political will, will pass one or more Articles of Impeachment. (I think there is an open question if that political will is there)
The Senate, barring something truly damning coming up, will acquit Trump on those Articles and life will go on.
The President will be reelected in 2020, barring something really weird happening, because the Dems seem content to throw their support behind only the most radical candidates. Ones that make sense are apparently "Russian agents".

1SG (Join to see) Well Trump is a radical candidate too and one that also from outward appearances is doing the bidding of Russia. I don't think either one of those things are what is going to swing the election one way or the other.

SPC Kevin Ford - Either one of which things.
FWIW, Americans vote with their pocketbooks. The only question is are there more freeloaders wanting additional free shit or more people who want success from their hard work?
I think it is the latter, judging by polling on individual proposals.
If this is about the economy, Trump might win 40 states.

1SG (Join to see) - Given the current level of income inequality, most people who are working hard are not becoming successful. It's that dynamic that got Trump elected last time. For most of those people they are still in the same boat.

Having said that, the economy is good enough for them where it will work in Trump's favor. If he didn't have so many negatives, he'd be a shoe in. The guy is is own worst enemy.

MSG Tom Earley - And it's the very set of rules which were enacted by and voted into law by the Republican majority held house, including several of the members who went into the SCIF yesterday then held news conferences about how terrible this all is. Even Trey Gowdy was all in on these rules so he could conduct further "secret" depositions regarding Benghazi at the time.

MSG Tom Earley - it appears that the info that I had regarding barring Republican Committee, was incorrect. I was under the impression that the minority committee members were being denied the right to be present during depositions and were also denied the right to subpoena witnesses. If I am mistaken on those points, then I stand corrected and I apologize.
